We will miss you xxx A poem for Grandpa by Sofia: Swallows The swallows flew low, through the fresh early morning sky Hovering above the quaint bungalow, just ready to say goodbye. A day we all had feared came with such a bitter sweet end, But we all knew David as such a jolly, loyal friend. And that is why we use today to celebrate his memory, Remember his humour and jokes, with the odd nature documentary! A life crammed with a passion for gardening and birds alike, His own botanic garden brought to Twyford a shining light. Whiling away the hours painting and sketching wild ideas, Our David had the charm to make us all laugh until tears. On many a country walk with his faithful pup by his side, Our country gentleman left the world watching the ever rising tide. Today we come together as one, to say thank yous to our oldest friend, Alive forever in our hearts and souls, may his legacy never end. Dear birds and swallows, please keep David safe for us all, In honour of his life we shall all forever stand tall.
